Notes from June 9
We had another planning meeting this past Monday, and I wanted to share with you some of our developments:
- first of all, the next meeting is Monday, June 30, at 6:30pm at Interact. Please let me know if you can attend.
- We have a date for the assembly! Tuesday, September 16, 5:30-9pm at the NCAE building. We are planning on having dinner/networking at 5:30pm, starting the meeting at 6pm.
We are progressing along nicely, and decided our most pressing steps right now are:
- building the planning committee/collaborations with local organizations and activists. If you have anyone you would like to ask to be on the planning committee, or who may be willing to supply resources/assistance, please feel free to contact.
- getting word out about the assembly.
- we’re thinking of sending a “save the date” email to any mailing lists we may have from past assemblies.
- start distributing the 2008 flyer once we update it (Nancy, do you have a word copy of the 2006 flyer?)
We talked a lot about trying to attract a diverse group of women (as always) to the assembly, and have some ideas that we can continue to explore as we progress.
I came up with a rough draft of a task flow chart, which McLean Kram made into the presentable form that is attached. This is just a first draft, but it can give you an idea of the tasks that need to be completed. It will also help me keep track of who’s doing what (for example, McLean has offered to be in charge of collecting any registration checks that come in).
Nancy Shoemaker will create an email list for the planning committee (for the people listed on this email). If you do not want to be on that list, please let me know.
